A third case related to the alleged ill-gotten wealth case against former President Ferdinand Marcos, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, and their cronies was junked by the Sandiganbayan.

KAMI learned that the ₱267.37 million civil case was dismissed by the Sandiganbayan anti-graft court 4th division.

In a report by the CNN Philippines, the case was dismissed due to insufficient evidence.

Fe Roa Gimenez was accused of transferring millions of government funds to several foreign accounts under her name. Meanwhile, Ignacio was accused of being a dummy of the Marcoses in several corporations like the Allied Banking Corporation.

The forfeiture case was filed by the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG). It was the same agency that was tasked to recover the supposed ill-gotten wealth of the Marcoses in 1987.

As reported by the ABS-CBN News (author Adrian Ayalin), the photocopied documents were defective as well.

“Considering that the Republic is essentially seeking to prove the contents of the photocopied exhibits that it submitted, this Court finds the violation of the best evidence rule in the case at bar to be fatal to the Republic's cause,” it stated.
