After Kris Aquino's horror film 'Kampon' was disqualified, Camina Villarroel's movie 'Sunod' was speculated to be the former's replacement for the MMFF.
The 'Sarap 'di ba' host finally spoke up about comments comparing her with Kris.
"Ay, huwag na lang nilang i-compare"
"Kumbaga, iba siya, iba ako, di ba? Wala naman sigurong dapat i-compare because nagkataon lang na parehong horror yung amin. At saka hindi lang naman kami yung horror na pinagpilian, meron ding iba pa."
"Basta ako nag-enjoy lang saka first time ng director namin na ma-experience ang Metro Manila Filmfest"
According to the Kapuso actress, she exchanged text messages with Kris regarding the movie and said that the Queen of All Media even congratulated her after 'Sunod' made it to the MMFF entries.
"Magka-text kami ni Ninang Kris kasi nga nag-message ako sa kanya"
"Tapos sumagot siya, sabi niya sa akin, ‘Sana inaanak kayo yung makapasok do’n.’ ‘Ay naku Ninang, sana nga magdilang-anghel ka.’"
"Nag-congratulate din siya sa akin."
"Alam ko na mahal niya ako at alam ko na sincere yung kanyang pagko-congratulate sa akin"
