Mula anim na buwan, gustong gawing dalawang taon ni Probinsyano Ako party-list Representative Jose "Bonito" Singson Jr. ang probationary period ng mga empleyado sa bansa.

Nai-file na ang House Bill 4802 sa House of Representatives ayon sa ulat ng GMA News.

Dito, sinabing hindi sapat ang anim na buwan para masabing kwalipikado ang isang empleyado para maging regular, lalo na sa mga "specialized skills and talents".

"Considering the advent of technological advances in various industries, the probationary employees must undergo a series of developmental training and assessment to ascertain their ability to do the job," ani Singson.

"In every stage of the development, the probationary employee must satisfy a set of standards to qualify. These processes demand more time, which in a lot of cases takes more than six months," dagdag pa ng mambabatas.

Pagkakataon din daw ito ng mga empleyado para ipakita ang kanilang special skills at talento at mam-meet ang mga required na standards ng kanilang mga employer.

"Probationary employees will have a better chance to improve their performance, meet their targets, and learn new skills that will allow them to meet the required standards set by the employer," sabi pa ni Singson.

Sa ilalim ng ng Article 281 ng Presidential Decree 442, o Labor Code of the Philippines, nararapat na gawing regular ang isang empleyado kapag patuloy na nagtrabaho ng lagpas na anim na buwan sa isang kompanya.

"Probationary employment shall not exceed six (6) months from the date the employee started working, unless it is covered by an apprenticeship agreement stipulating a longer period... An employee who is allowed to work after a probationary period shall be considered a regular employee."
