‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ gets nominated as Best Asian Film in Australia

“Hello, Love, Goodbye” has been nominated on Tuesday as Best Asian Film at this year’s Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Awards.

KAMI learned that the highest-grossing Filipino movie of all time will vie for the highly-coveted title against several award-winning movies from giant countries in Asia.

The film, which featured the tandem of Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards for the first time, tackles the difficulties that OFWs in Hong Kong face every day.

It is directed by Cathy Garcia-Molina and it was described as “highly relatable romantic comedy” during the announcement of nominees.

One of the strongest opponents of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” in the said international competition is the South Korean film “Parasite” which already won Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

China also has three movies that are nominated at the AACTA Awards 2019, and one of them is Ne Zha, the country’s official entry to the 2020 Academy Awards.

The other nominees are as follows: Andhadhun (India), Gully Boy (India), Shadow (China), Super Deluxe (India), The Wandering Earth (China), and We Are Little Zombies (Japan).

The announcement of winners will be on December 4 and it will be held in Sydney, Australia.
