- Marian Rivera was recently asked to air her opinion about the ongoing traffic issue in the Philippines
- The actress then answered by suggesting that people should put the 3-4 hour traffic to good use by turning it into their ‘me time’
- Her answer garnered mixed reactions from netizens on various social media platforms
Kapuso star Marian Rivera has buzzed the online community with her latest comments about the heavy traffic here in the Philippines.
KAMI learned that during her launch as the new endorser for Waltermart, the actress was asked to comment about the issue to which she replied, "Traffic? Parang matagal nang may traffic. Wala nang dahilan para ikunsume mo sarili mo sa traffic."
Marian further suggested that people should just leave early if they didn’t want to be late, "Kung may lakad ka, eh 'di pumunta ka ahead of time para 'di ka ma-trapik."
The actress also added that people can still be productive during the 3-4 hour traffic, "Sa sasakyan, 'pag trapik, andaming pwedeng gawin. Magcellphone ka, magsulat ka, eh 'di 'yun 'yung 'me' time mo sa sarili mo, 'di ba? So andaming pwedeng gawin mo 'pag traffic.”

However, netizens were quick to point out that Marian's suggestion will be hard to follow given the harsh conditions of everyday commute.
Here are some of their comments from the entertainment site, Fashion Pulis, as well.
"I think she's trying to take something positive out of a negative issue. What she's trying to point out is that matagal na matraffic sa Manila at mukhang wala namang solusyon na naooffer, kung mismong mamamayan walang magawa para mabago siya, kesa makunsume ka sa isang bagay na hindi mo naman makokontrol, kalmahin mo sarili mo at idivert attention para di ka mastress."
"When you are employed and expected to be on time, and have to endure it EVERY SINGLE DAY, Marian Rivera cannot relate to. Keep your opinions with you MR!"
"Mali nga naman si Marian dito. Sya kasi nasa komportableng sasakyan while ang mga simpleng mamamayan nakapila, nakikipag gitgitan at siksikan sa mga sasakyan. Asan ang “me time” dun, aber? Empathy, Marian. Lalo na sa Psychology graduate na tulad mo."
"Totoo naman na matagal na ang traffic...panahon pa ni Ramos ay grabe na ang traffic. Pero na-miss ni Marian ang point ng mga pangkaraniwan na tao na dahil sa traffic, nauubos ang oras sa daanan na dapat ay kasama natin ang pamilya natin."
As reported earlier by KAMI, Marian Rivera spoke up on Jennylyn Mercado getting cast as the romantic lead of Dingdong Dantes on “Descendants of the Sun." According to Marian, Jennylyn is a good fit as Dingdong’s partner in the new TV series. Jennylyn’s character was originally played by Song Hye-Kyo, a South Korean superstar actress.
Marian Rivera is a Kapuso actress and endorser. She is the wife of superstar actor Dingdong Dantes. They have two children – Zia and Ziggy.
