Defeated presidential candidate Mar Roxas cools down in Baguio City to unwind and celebrate his 59th birthday camping with his family.
In a video message posted on Roxas' official Facebook page on Friday, May 13, the poll's current second placer thanked his supporters, which he referred to as TSM, short for "The Silent Majority."
Roxas said in jest that he is now nearing senior citizenship, but still delights in celebrating his birthday camping.
His wife Korina Sanchez and son Paolo Roxas also appeared in the video. Watch his full message here:
Roxas also apologized for missing the celebration at the Araneta Center in Quezon City, which his supporters mounted in his honor.
Around a thousand Liberal Party supporters gathered at the food park in the Araneta-owned commercial complex on Friday evening, May 13 for Roxas' birthday celebration.
This might be the most emotional birthday for the administration standard-bearer after conceding the race to presumptive president Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday, May 10.
In his birthday message, Roxas acknowledged an emotional state but continued to thank those who believed in him.
"Marami po ang ating damdamin pero parating nangingibabaw ang pasasalamat sa inyong lahat na nagtiwala at nagbigay ng suporta at talaga namang nagmahal sa akin at sa ating bansa. Maraming, maraming salamat. Mabuhay po kayo!"
(We are full of emotions, but above all, we are thankful for your trust and support and to you who truly loved me and our country. Thank you very, very much.)
