Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo has accepted the “commute challenge” given to him by militant groups.

KAMI learned that Panelo reportedly left his residence in Marikina City 5:15 a.m. on Friday.

In a report by the GMA News Online, Panelo provided photos of him riding the jeepney while on his way to Malacañang.

He had no security guards with him and said that he tried to avoid the media. Panelo said that he accepted the challenge to prove that even government officials can experience the lives of the commuters.

According to the Inquirer (author Darryl John Esguerra), after traveling for two hours, Panelo shared another photo of him on his third jeepney ride going to Sta. Mesa, Manila.

He was not able to ride the LRT-2 at Gilmore Station and opted to take another jeepney ride. When he rode a tricycle, the unit was not working. Therefore, he asked a motorist to take him from J.P. Laurel gate to Gate 2 of the Malacañang complex.

Four hours after, about 8:47 a.m., Panelo arrived at the Malacañang
