Three policemen were rescued from drowning by alleged drug traffickers they were pursuing in Madrid, Spain. Still, the criminals were arrested by the Spanish authorities even after saving them from the accident.

In a report by The Telegraph, the incident happened during the high-speed boat chase on the coast of Malaga.

As members of the Spanish Civil Guard tried to cut-off towards the destination of the criminals’ vessel in the middle of the chase, the police boat was going too fast that it bounced across the sea waves.

After the collision, they lost control of the speed boat and three policemen came tumbling and fell to the sea.

Meanwhile, the police crew from the helicopter above that had been supporting the sea operation tried to issue and call for help via a megaphone.

In the end, the suspected criminals gave up and helped rescue the authorities trying to swim to their safety.

Later, four suspects were arrested, found to be guilty of drug trafficking and charged for it after retrieving more than 80 bundles of drugs weighing around a total of 6,000 pounds from their boat.

According to the police, “They were arrested for drug trafficking.”
