Ethel Booba joined the famous singing contest of "It’s Showtime" – Tawag ng Tanghalan for its Celebrity Champions edition. But before joining, she commented on the talent fee and prize money of the contest.
In an interview with Showbizz Ganap, after receiving the call for the invitation to join the competition, Ethel shared in jest how she reacted and that she clarified first if the talent fee and prize are separate.
She asked from the caller, “Ha? Sure kayo? (with her joining the competition)”
“Ito magkaliwanagan tayo ha. Ang TF ba at tsaka premyo hiwalay?” she added.

The comment she made is in relation of her recent viral tweet regarding the issue of unpaid pay slips and talent fees in the show business.
Now that she's an official contestant, she was also asked about her edge over the other participants. According to the comedian, it would be her followers. She's influential via social media, specifically on Twitter because of her humorous and relatable tweets.
“Marami akong supporters siyempre. Ganon! [laughs]” as per Ethel.
Further, despite having the best intentions of just enjoying the competition, she swore to still showcase her best performance on the show.
“Oo syempre! Para ano. Para naman may makitang ano...makitang, “Ay oo nga no! Singer nga pala siya (Ethel)!” Ganon. Gusto kong maalala nila na, kumakanta pala talaga ko,” she quipped.
Ironically, given the chance if she's going to win the competition, she's pretty hesitant about pushing through with a singing career. She just wanted to prove in the competition and to the audience that she can sing.
