MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago sued social media pages that posted misleading memes about her.

On Wednesday, the assistant secretary filed charges against the social media pages that posted memes about her before the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group.

This is after the Facebook page "Pinoy Laugh Page" and Twitter page "Barurot News" posted a photo of her with a caption"MMDA to commuters: Kung nahihirapan sumakay, 'wag na lang pumasok"

Pialago denied saying the quoted words on the said meme and accused the pages of spreading fake news. She also said that her credibility and performance were affected because of the misleading posts.

"We never said this, I never said this, even mga opisyal natin, walang nagsabi nito. This is technically and obviously fake news, false statement"

She clarified that the complaint she filed does not include those who shared the said posts but only for the administrators of "Pinoy Laugh Page" and "Barurot News".

The PNP chief of the Cybercrime Unit also gave a statement and said that they will investigate the matter and identify the administrators of the pages involved.

Celine Pialago is a former Miss Earth Philippines 2014 candidate. She was appointed as the MMDA spokesperson in September 2016 and promoted as the assistant secretary of MMMDA in August 2018.
