- US based Pinay singer Sheryn Regis revealed her struggle with thyroid cancer

Sheryn Regis admitted that she feared she would lose her voice as she battled with cancer. She is back to do some shows in Manila.
As reported by Push, she revealed the reason why it took her a long time to make it back into the music scene. In 2010, she migrated to Houston, Texas with her family.
According to her, it was in 2016 when she found out that she had cancer.
"Babalik sana ako ng 2016 for projects, and then I found out that I had cancer. That's why. Di muna ako nagpapakita," she said.
Sheryn revealed how scared she was to lose her voice after her surgery.
She emotionally recounted her struggles when she was prohibited to sing for 6 months. However, she managed to perform in a concert in Australia despite the difficulties she encountered.
Sheryn admitted however that her voice range has actually changed.
"Naapektuhan siya ng konti. Pero ok na, pero mabilis lang ako mapagod. I'm so thankful to God and sa support ng family and friends na kundi dahil sa kanila, di ko kaya," she revealed.

The singer also said she is now cancer-free.
"I hope so. I think I am cancer-free. Siyempre I always have routine check-ups, I underwent radiation therapy."
Sheryn Mae Poncardas Regis better known simply as Sheryn Regis, is a Filipino pop singer-songwriter, host, entrepreneur and occasional actress. She rose to fame during the first season of the singing competition Star in a Million where she placed runner-up to Erik Santos in 2003.
