There have been a social media posts circulating online claiming that President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the supposed “bonus” for Social Security System (SSS) members.
However, KAMI learned that this claim has already been debunked.
The online post had a headline saying: “P50,000 bonus para sa lahat ng miyembro ng SSS pinirmahan na ni Pang, Duterte. Panoorin kung paano magrehistro online.”

In a report by French news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP), the SSS has clarified the issue and said that the claim was “fake.”
“Ipinapaalam po sa publiko na HINDI TOTOO ang balitang ito na may pinirmahang batas si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na magbibigay ang ahensya ng P50,000 bonus sa lahat ng miyembro,” it said on their Facebook post.
AFP also reported that the video used in the social media posts was originally from the report of People’s Television Network that was published on January 10, 2019.
The video tackled some information about SSS. However, it did not mention the aforementioned P50,000 bonus allegedly approved by Pres. Duterte.
