Some of the motorists have been protesting over the increasing parking fees in different establishments in the country.
KAMI learned that Senator Sherwin Gatchalian has filed a bill seeking to lower the parking fees and make it standard.
In a report by ABS-CBN News’ Bandila, Gatchalian also mentioned that as stated in the bill, the establishment’s owner or management should be liable for any incidents involving the motorists and their car.
"‘Yung may-ari ng parking, siya rin ang may liability sa sasakyan mo at sa’yo,” Gatchalian said.

The lawmaker explained that according to the proposed measure, the standard parking fee should be P40 within the first 8 hours. An additional P10 should be charged for every succeeding hour.
As reported by the DWIZ 882 AM (author Jennelyn Valencia), Gatchalian also proposed that the parking fee for the first 8 hours should be waived if the motorist has P1,000 worth of purchase from the establishment.
In a report by KAMI before, Gatchalian has filed Senate Bill No. 201 or the “Proof of Parking Space Act” which allows car owners to be responsible for their own parking space.
