President Rodrigo Duterte has apologized for wearing a casual floral polo to the inauguration of the Bataan Government Center and Business Hub in Balanga City.
KAMI learned that most of the guests during the event were wearing formal Filipiniana attire.
In a report by GMA News Online (author Virgil Lopez), the President revealed that his protocol officers are the ones who decide what he should be wearing every occasion.
“Before anything else, I’d like to apologize for my attire. I do not know why it’s protocol who says what I should wear for an event. Inilalagay na ho nila sa kama ko. And I thought it was just an outdoor,” Duterte said.

During the event, the President also called Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco as up-and-coming Speaker of the House. Alan Peter Cayetano is the current House Speaker, and he was not present in the event.
“The Honorable members of the House of Representatives; the up-and-coming Speaker of the House tutal wala man dito si Aquino—ay, si Cayetano. Biro lang,” the President said.
