The Kapamilya actress revealed that she is not fond of watching films starring young love teams because for her, such movies have shallow and 'corny' storylines.
"My honest feedback on I’m Ellenya L.: I’m not really fond of watching movies featuring young loveteams... usually kasi mababaw or corny ang story and acting," she wrote.
Angel then gave her honest yet kind words towards the aforementioned film, which is directed by Boy 2 Quizon.
The 'General's Daughter' actress also commended the characters, scoring, pacing, and the unique plot of the movie.
"But this is so far the best “kilig-but not cringy loveteam movie” I’ve ever seen. Hooray for movies with good scoring!
"I love how they perfectly showed that music could express our feelings when words are not appropriate to use. I’m excited to download the soundtracks on spotify."
"The pacing is really good! No dull boring fillers. The actors are a delight to watch. The story is unique, but is somehow familiar to all of us. Not being able to relate with this film is impossible. I love the dynamics of the characters in this movie. lalabas ka sa sinehan na may “warmth” sa heart mo."
"PS. Ngayon lang ata ako tumawa ng ganon kalakas sa sinehan Kudos @boy2quizon_ on your first film! Nasa dugo mo talaga ang pagiging mahusay na artist! #ImEllenyaL"
Some netizens thanked her for giving her honest review and convincing words, however, there were also some who did not like her 'corny' remark about other movies starring young love teams.
Here are some of the netizens reactions.
"Pag galing talaga kay Angel alam mo talagang totoo lang."
"at dahil dyan.. Manood na din kami! Salamat Rhian!"
"coming from ms angel locsin, sure this movie is legit spread the word. congrats in advance po. god bless"
"Considering you’re an actress.. was it really necessary for you to say “mababaw or corny....”? Has it ever occurred to you that some of your movies could be described exactly as such (minus the “young loveteam” of course)? Just wow. @therealangellocsin"
"That was too honest..I bet many loveteams have been touched.. the journey that made u a star u are today..but I agree "they are corny and too cliche"..halos lab at namn especially mainstream movies.."
