- A certain “Janet Lim Napoles” was included in the list of freed convicts through the GCTA
- The Department of Justice (DOJ) has been waiting for the explanation of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor)
- According to records, the Janet Lim Napoles that was released had been convicted for a different case
It has been reported that businesswoman and “pork barrel scam queen” Janet Lim Napoles was included in the list of convicts that were released due to the good conduct time allowance (GTCA).
KAMI learned that the Department of Justice (DOJ) is waiting for the explanation of the Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) about the discrepancy.
As reported by GMA News Online, Napoles was included in the list that the BuCor submitted to the Senate.
According to the records, the “Janet Lim Napoles” released was the one convicted for rape in November 2018 and not the one facing plunder trial over the “pork barrel scam.”
In an interview on DZMM Teleradyo, Justice Undersecretary Deo Marco explained that the DOJ has already given instructions to the BuCor.
"Nagbigay na po ako ng verbal instructions... Sabi ko, please find out iyong cause bakit may mga ganito," Marco said.
"Noong nakausap ko po iyong mga taga-BuCor, kahit po sila, hindi pa sila makapagbigay ng categorical answer kung bakit may mga ganoong discrepancy. Sinabi po nila na they will be prepared to answer today," he added.

Meanwhile, it was reported by the Philippine Star that DOJ Usec, Markk Perete has confirmed that Janet Lim Napoles who was detained due to plunder is still inside the Correctional Institution for Women.
In a previous report by KAMI, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) claimed that they received reports saying that some of the convicts released through the GCTA have already left the Philippines.
Janet Lim Napoles became known as the mastermind of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) Scam or the “pork barrel scam.” Napoles was convicted of plunder. Some of the officials involved in the case were former Senators Jinggoy Estrada, Juan Ponce Enrile, and Sen. Bong Revilla.
