Ex-Governor of Pangasinan brutally ambushed; 5 bodyguards killed

Former Pangasinan Governor Amado Espino Jr. was rushed to the hospital after his vehicle got ambushed by unidentified gunmen at Barangay Magtaking, San Carlos City on September 11.
KAMI learned that the brutal incident happened at 4:30 p.m. when the victim and his security escorts were inside a black Toyota Innova.
According to the police, two vehicles blocked Espino’s way, and the suspects poured gunshots at his car that reportedly cost the lives of 5 people (including his driver).
The ex-governor, meanwhile, suffered severe wounds because of what happened, but he is now in a stable condition after he was rushed to the intensive care unit (ICU).

"Meron humarang, two vehicles that blocked their way," Joel Orduña, the regional police director of Ilocos, said when interviewed by CNN Philippines.
“I have already ordered a massive pursuit operation against the perpetrators. We deployed our men in all possible escape routes,” he added.
The Philippine National Police (PNP), as well as the Partido Demokratiko Pilipino – Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-LABAN), have already condemned the brutal ambush in Pangasinan.
PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde also ordered the Police Regional Office 1 (PRO1) to conduct manhunt operations immediately to serve justice to the victims.

Amado Espino Jr. is a former Governor and Congressman in Pangasinan. He received an apology from President Rodrigo Duterte for mistakenly including him in the controversial “narco list.”
