President Rodrigo Duterte said some strong words against Senator Panfilo Lacson.
The comments came after Lacson criticized Duterte for expressing his approval of policemen receiving gifts.
Duterte responded by saying that this approval is not against the law, particularly the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act, as reported by GMA-7 News (authored by Virgil Lopez).

“When I said that the policemen can accept gifts in gratitude but in small token, I was stating the words of the law. Hindi man nila alam na ano. I can forgive Lacson for coming out with an erroneous tongue…
“Maybe because he’s not a lawyer. But his penchant to just right away in every issue dito, I think he’s running for President. But I would caution him to be more circumspect because pagdating ng panahon ‘yan, ‘yan ang magagamit ng mga ano niya, mga kalaban niya. Sheer ignorance. Trying to be a crusader but ignorant,” Duterte said.
KAMI reported earlier that the President expressed his admiration for Manila Mayor Isko Moreno.
Rodrigo Duterte is the 16th and current President of the Philippines. He won the 2016 Presidential Election by garnering over 16 million votes. Duterte defeated Mar Roxas, Grace Poe, and Jejomar Binay in the said election.
