‘Just A Stranger’ star Anne Curtis has become the subject of online debate after sharing her thoughts on the SOGIE bill on her social media account.

KAMI learned that Anne posted an old photo from her 2016 photoshoot for Metro Magazine with a lengthy caption about the SOGIE bill.

According to Anne, “With the SOGIE Bill hearing recently happening and with such a heated discussion ongoing about it being passed. I just want to share my thoughts. I am an ally of the LGBTQIA+ Community and have been open about that for years. I have friends and family who are part of this community and whom I love very much.

“It breaks my heart and saddens me that people are so against the passing of the bill when in fact, it all boils down to equal rights as HUMAN BEINGS... but sadly because of discrimination, a bill like this has to be made.... because, instead of kindness, compassion, respect and UNDERSTANDING it has come to a point where they need this bill to protect their rights as human beings.

“Equality is all they seek for. Equality regardless of what gender they identify as or how they choose to express themselves and equality as human beings and citizens of this country... just like all of US. @bjpascual for @metromagph wearing @michaelleyva_ I still stand by these words I said for this cover in 2016... “We are all the same. We are all human beings who deserve a chance and equal opportunities in life. May it be for work, life or love we should be given equal rights”. . #comingoutforequality #sogieequalitybill”

Anne’s post, however, garnered various reactions from her fans, with some expressing their disappointment over the Kapamilya actress.

"I don't consider myself a "loss" from your millions of followers but it saddens me that all my teenage and adolescent life i looked up to you and as much as i respect your opinion i hope you took the time to consider the people who aren't as "privileged" like you and your friends/family and how other "commoners" like me are struggling to accept the SOGIE bill."
"We accepted them, but the thing is they don't know their limitations. Wala problema kung tatanggapin ang kaso they want superiority not equality."
"It saddens me that you didn't take any research about it. I loveyou anne but this things need more attention and study because in every actions there's a consequences that our country needs to face after."
"What we should all be fighting for is EQUITY. Not equality with gender-bias only. EQUALITY means to be equal. EQUITY means to be fair. EQUAL and FAIR isn't the same.."
"Sad. Many celebrities, including you, are supporting them that is why they are so eager and brave to push this bill. Disappointed."
