Kiefer Ravena tries to fight back his tears after Gilas Pilipinas suffered a loss against Angola on Wednesday.

KAMI learned that Ravena got emotional after Gilas did not have the chance to win any game in the FIBA World Cup.

In a report by the GMA News Online (author Marisse Panaligan), Ravena explained that their team had been under many criticisms and they were eager to win.

“Never ako naging emosyonal sa laro, kilala niyo ‘ko, pero, we’ve been under so much criticisms kasi, kaya gusto naming manalo ngayon,” Ravena said.

“I just wanted to do it so bad for Coach Yeng,” he added.

The basketball player also shared that the team was sad because they were not able to make the Filipinos happy.

“It would’ve been the world to us. Kaya nga kami sobrang lungkot kasi hindi naming napapasaya ‘yung kababayan namin,” Ravena said.

Gilas Pilipinas represented the Philippines in the FIBA World Cup. Included in the final lineup of the Philippine team are Andray Blatche, June Mar Fajardo, Gabe Norwood, Japeth Aguilar, Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario, Kiefer Ravena, Raymond Almazan, CJ Perez, Paul Lee, Robert Bolick, and Mark Barroca.

Kiefer Ravena is a professional basketball player and he plays with NLEX Road Warriors in PBA. He is the son of former PBA player Ferdinand "Bong" Ravena.
