- Her story really caught the attention of many people
An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in Dubai willingly shared an inspiring and heartwarming story about how she extends help to her fellow Filipinos.
KAMI learned that Corazon Verola Tarcena, a former public school teacher in the Philippines, continuously initiates amazing ways to help her “kababayans.”
The said OFW stated that it was a struggle during her first six months in Dubai, especially because she could not find a job that suited her educational attainment.
She decided to apply as a domestic helper to be able to provide for her family, and she also got hired as a clerk in a service garage several months after.

Corazon’s life changed when she happened to see spare parts of computers that were already dumped in a garbage bag somewhere in the said country.
She collected used computer parts and thought of giving them to people in the Philippines who may need them.
She also wrote an article about it, which unexpectedly caught the attention of many individuals who were also willing to donate their old personal computers.
The selfless act of the said OFW did not stop there. She brought other “unwanted” things and sent them to the Mangyans in Mindoro, along with other donations that she received in Dubai.
Indeed, a person’s struggles and status in life are not hindrances to the inspiring aim of helping other people, especially those who are really in need.
The story of Corazon teaches us that there is a thing more satisfying than just helping our own families – it is being able to lend help to the less-fortunate members of society.
