Trillanes faces kidnapping complaint filed by PNP-CIDG

- Former opposition Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV faces a new complaint

- The PNP-CIDG has filed a kidnapping case against the former senator

- The complainant accused Trillanes and three others of bribing her to testify against Pres. Rodrigo Duterte

The Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) has filed a kidnapping complaint against former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.

KAMI learned that three other respondents were involved in the case.

In a report by GMA News Online (author Anna Felicia Bajo), aside from Trillanes, Fr. Albert Alejo, lawyer Jude Sabio, and a certain Sister Ling of the Convent of Cannussian Sisters were in the complaint of Guillermina Lalic Barrido, a businesswoman from Davao City.

As stated by the PNP-CIDG, Barrido was “feloniously, maliciously and intentionally” placed under detention against her will for “14 days” and was forced to do something.

Barrido claimed that Trillanes bribed her to testify against President Rodrigo Duterte in 2017.

She also mentioned that she was detained from Dec. 6 to 21, 2016 at the Convent of Cannussian and was transferred to the Holy Spirit Convent to allegedly forced her to sign an affidavit to discredit the Duterte administration.

In a previous report by KAMI, Trillanes also faced raps over the claims of Peter Joemel Advincula alias “Bikoy” behind the controversial “Ang Totoong Narcolist” videos.

Trillanes is a known staunch critic of President Duterte. Before entering politics, Trillanes served in the Philippine Navy. He was also known for leading the Oakwood Mutiny and Manila Peninsula siege.
