Sophia Corullo, a child actress, passed away at the age of 6 due to dengue fever.
KAMI learned that her mother, Angeli Corullo, opened up about Sophia’s final days.
In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the grieving mother revealed that Sophia had a fever on Wednesday, recovered on Thursday, but became lethargic on Saturday before passing away on Sunday, August 18.

“Ang bilis kasi noon. Noong madaling araw bago mag-Wednesday, nagkaroon ng lagnat. 'Yun lang ang lagnat niya talaga. Hindi siya nilagnat nang dire-diretso. Pagdating ng Thursday, Friday, wala siyang lagnat at saka masigla siya. Wala siyang mga sign kasi tinitingnan ko siya kung may rashes o bleeding, wala talaga. Kaya lang noong Sabado, medyo matamlay siya. Kaya ang ginawa ko [dahil] sarado ang clinic, diniretso ko sa OsMak (Ospital ng Makati).
"Pagdating doon sa OsMak, sabi mababa raw ang platelets niya. Ang ginawa ay diniretso na po siya sa ICU. Tapos wala na, dire-diretso na hanggang Sunday ng after lunch [binawian siya ng buhay],” Angeli recounted.

Sophia Corullo captured the attention of Filipino viewers when she joined the MiniMe segment of the ABS-CBN program “It’s Showtime,” introducing herself as the “Mini Anne Curtis.” She has also appeared on episodes of the Kapamilya series “Maalaala Mo Kaya.”
