Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III has commented over the status of SOGIE bill in the Senate.

KAMI learned that the proposed measure which aims to protect the LGBTQ+ community has “no chance” to pass in the Senate.

In a report by the GMA News Online, Sotto has sent a message to the reporters that the Senate could pass an anti-discrimination bill, but not the one focused on LGBTQ+ members only.

"Anti-discrimination on persons pwede. Pero focused on gays, which the SOGIE bill is, and religious and academic freedom impeded plus smuggling of same sex marriage? No chance!" he said.
