Viral transgender woman Gretchen Diez has commented over the common stereotypes given to gays and transgender women.

KAMI learned that for Diez, LGBTQ members have to work the “hardest” because they have to earn the respect of the people.

In a report by ABS-CBN News, Diez emphasized that they always experience discrimination “no matter how much we prevent it.”

"I love the fact that we say men have to work hard to be successful in their business, women have to work harder to become successful, and people of our gender have to work the hardest because we have to earn respect," Diez said.

“There’s already pre-judgment. ‘Bakla ‘yan, pang-parlor, pang-comedy bar.’ Not knowing that we are also people with logical capacity,” she added.

The 28-year-old transgender woman who used to work as a cognitive development specialist said that there is a need for people to be more educated regarding the LGBTQ community to prevent discrimination.

"The more that we understand, the more that we learn, the more that we become considerate. And the more that we become considerate, the better we become as a person, the better we become as a nation," she said.
