A gender-sensitive restroom was built at the office of Philippine National Police–Human Rights Affairs Office after it was renovated this year.
KAMI learned that PNP-HRAO chief Brig. Gen. Dennis Siervo emphasized the importance of having a gender-sensitive room to prevent discrimination against the LGBTQ Community.
In a report by ABS-CBN News (author Zhander Cayabyab), the PNP-HRAO office has three restrooms for men, women, and LGBTQ members.

Siervo urged the private and public establishments to have a designated restroom for the LGBTQ community.
In a previous report by KAMI, transgender woman Gretchen Diez was barred from using the ladies’ comfort room in a Cubao mall by a cleaning crew. The incident drew flak from netizens, celebrities, and even lawmakers.
KAMI also reported earlier that Farmers Plaza has already apologized over the incident. The management also clarified that the janitress involved in the incident was not a direct employee.
