Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has commented over the issue that a transgender woman was barred from using a ladies’ comfort room in a mall.

KAMI learned that Belmonte condemned the “discrimination” that happened at Farmer’s Plaza mall on Tuesday.

“We condemn this kind of discrimination towards members of the LGBT+ community,” Belmonte wrote on her Facebook page.

Belmonte also emphasized that Quezon City was the first to pass the Gender Fair Ordinance which aims to protect the rights of the LGBTQ+ members.
