In a report by ABS-CBN News, Moreno explained that the two companies had a joint venture agreement with the previous administration. However, they never remitted the guaranteed annual revenue share since 2017.
“‘Yung maliliit na nagtitinda nagbabayad pero ‘yung malalaking korporasyon hindi nagbabayad. Parang ginagahasa niyo naman kami niyan,” Moreno said.
“Binibigyan ko kayo ng 72 hours to pay. This is unfair. Hindi makatwiran yan. In the absence of payment, we will invalidate or strike down your contract. No extension. You have to pay,” he added.
In a previous report by KAMI, Moreno said that he wanted to make the new Ospital ng Maynila look like prestigious private hospitals, St. Luke’s Medical Center and Makati Medical Center.
Isko Moreno was the vice mayor of Manila City before he won as the mayor in the May 2019 polls. He started as a matinee idol and then became a politician.
