Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) chief Atty. Persida Acosta claims that Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo was “misquoted” for his remark over Dengvaxia vaccine.

KAMI learned that for Acosta, the one who suggested to bring back Dengvaxia, former Health Secretary Janette Garin, is not “credible.”

"Alam ko na-misquote lang si Secretary Panelo 'yan dahil ang nagsalita at nagrekomenda ay nasasakdal, si Secretary Garin. Nasasakdal yan. Nakapiyansa lang," Acosta said in an interview with GMA’s Unang Balita.

"Hindi siya credible na mag-suggest dahil siya ay isang akusado at respondent sa mga Dengvaxia dead victims cases,” she added.

Acosta clarified that she was able to read the excerpts of Panelo’s interview.

"Nabasa ko yung excerpts. Sabi niya open to anything ang Palasyo basta ikabubuti pero pag-aaralan yan. Hindi sinabing ibalik. Mini-misquote siya na ibalik na," Acosta said.

In a different interview, Acosta explained that Dengvaxia should not be used again because 142 patients who had it allegedly died.

"Marami na ngang namatay dahil sa 142 na ang na-autopsy ng PAO forensic team, may common pattern of signs and symptoms after vaccination," she said.
