Defense Secretary Defense Lorenzana has spoken regarding the actions of China over the disputed West Philippine Sea or the South China Sea.
KAMI learned that for Lorezana, China’s vow to maintain peace over the WPS does not reflect its actions.
“There is nothing new from what they’re saying. They’re saying that they want peace in South China Sea, blah, blah, blah, but it does not match what they’re doing on the ground,” Lorenzana said.
“The way they took over Scarborough Shoal, to me, that is bullying,” he added.

The Defense chief also commented over the remark of Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua that China was just displaying acts of self-defense and vowed not to “take the first shot.”

Lorenzana said, “Parang optics lang. It's good to be heard just to keep us siguro calm or pampalubag-loob sa atin.”
“But the bottomline is hindi magkatugma yung sinasabi nila sa ginagawa nila sa WPS,” he added.
