The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) questioned the rainbow-colored pedestrian lane or the “LGBT Pride Lane” in Davao City.

KAMI learned that the DPWH called out the LGBT Pride Lane because it violated the international standard colors of the pedestrian lane which are yellow and white.

"Although this can be discussed in a proper venue. Pero kami sa DPWH we will stick to our standards,” DPWH XI spokesperson Dean Ortiz said.

In a report by ABS-CBN News (author Andoreena Causon), CTTMO head Dionesioa Abude claimed that they did not approve the request of Sangguniang Kabataan because the approval of City Transport and Traffic Management Board was needed as well.

Barangay Lapu-Lapu SK Chairman Paolo Rodriguez said that there had been a miscommunication because he thought it was approved by the DPWH and CTTMO. Rodriguez has already taken full responsibility for the incident.

“I take full responsibility for the action. I take full responsibility for whatever violations nga amoang nalapas. But I really ask for understanding that the bagong SK is pure and innocent with our intention,” he said.
