Taguig Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano has been elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives on Monday.

KAMI learned that Cayetano had his oath-taking for the new position just before the 4th State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Rodrigo Duterte.

In a tweet by the GMA News, the House of Representatives members were led by CIBAC party-list Rep. Bro. Eddie Villanueva to pray over Cayetano before his oath-taking.

As reported by the Manila Bulletin, Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco said that he is hoping that the term-sharing between him and Cayetano would be honored after 15 months.

In a previous report by KAMI, President Rodrigo Duterte endorsed Cayetano as the House Speaker. The President also backed the term-sharing of Cayetano and Velasco.
