- Actress Lauren Young called out a Chinese establishment in Subic
- She noted that the new restaurant has a card saying that it is exclusive for Chinese customers only
- Young questioned the legality of the Chinese-only restaurant
Actress and model Lauren Young shared on social media that her “favorite” restaurant in Subic has been sold and was replaced by a Chinese-only establishment.
KAMI learned that Young questioned the legality of the new restaurant.
In a report by the Inquirer, Young showed that there was a sign that read: “Only for Chinese customer.”
“Is this even legal? (My fave resto in Subic has been sold and this sign is up) I really want to know if business owners are allowed to do this,” the actress said.
“If I had a restaurant am I allowed to put up these signs for example: ‘Only for dog Customers’ ‘Only for Filipino Customers’ LMK (let me know),” she added.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) replied to the tweet of Young requested to lodge her concern to their Consumer Protection and Advocacy Bureau.
Last May, the DTI ordered the suspension of a Chinese-only food park in Las Piñas City after it went viral on social media.
