- Reigning Miss Universe Catriona Gray finally broke her silence a week after the controversy involving a Thai beauty queen
- She spoke up against body-shaming and bullying in response to her follower's questions
- Catriona stood firm about her stand against body-shaming and bullying
Catriona Gray answered her followers' question via twitter for the first time. Some of her followers asked her about her stand on bullying and body-shaming.
The reigning Miss Universe was recently involved in a similar case after a Thai beauty queen called her fat through an Instagram story post.
Her fans all over the world reacted and bashed Coco Arayha Saparurk over her offensive post. Saparurk was recently crowned as Miss Grand Thailand International 2019 as reported earlier by KAMI.
“Obviously I stand firmly against any form of bullying and bashing — online and off,” she tweeted in reply to a question about her stand about online bullying and body shaming.
"It is never, ever okay to put someone down for the sake of "expressing your opinion". With words come power and we should be using those words to build someone up and not pull them down. " she added.
She also said that body-shaming should never be tolerated and it is hurtful.
The Pinay beauty queen also inspired some of the netizens with her advice to help women feel empowered.
Catriona Gray is the fourth Filipina to win the pageant. Previously, Gray was crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2018 and Miss World Philippines 2016.
