- Senator Bato dela Rosa dared to cut his head off if proven that the extrajudicial killings in the country are state-sponsored
- He also questioned why the UNHRC has been meddling with the domestic affairs in the Philippines
- Dela Rosa also emphasized that he has nothing to be afraid of and welcomed the investigation
Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa said that he will have his head cut-off if proven that the extrajudicial killings in the country are state-sponsored.
KAMI learned that the remark of Dela Rosa came after the decision of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) to probe the killings involved in the Duterte administration’s drug war.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, Dela Rosa strongly opposed the claim that the killings were sponsored by the state.
"Gusto talaga nila palabasin na lahat ito (drug war deaths) state-sponsored? No! I will have my head cut off if this is state-sponsored," Dela Rosa said.
"Pugutan ninyo ako ng ulo kung 'state-sponsored' ang mga sinasabi ninyong EJK," he added.
Dela Rosa also questioned why the UNHRC has been meddling with domestic affairs. He also reiterated that UNHRC should be asking the P19 million Filipinos who voted for him regarding the effects of drug war.
As previously reported by KAMI, the UNHRC came up with the decision to adopt the resolution filed by Iceland seeking a comprehensive report on the human rights situation in the Philippines regarding the alleged extrajudicial killings.
