- The MMDA has been strictly implementing the traffic rules along EDSA
- However, some passengers started shouting when the bus was stopped for a violation
- MMDA traffic czar Col. Bong Nebrija also answered back to the passengers
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) head of traffic Col. Bong Nebrija made a Facebook live video to show the traffic woes along EDSA during rush hour on Wednesday.
KAMI learned that during the live video, Nebrija had a heated exchange with the passengers of an ordinary bus who was issued a ticket for a violation.
According to the Facebook video, the enforcers were not able to focus on their job because the passengers were allegedly shouting and cursing at them. This was also the time Nebrija started raising his voice to the passengers.
“’Wag niyo kaming sisisihin. ‘Wag kami ang sisisihin niyo. Inaayos namin ang trapik dito. ‘Wag niyo kaming sisigawan!” Nebrija told the passengers.
"Ikaw ang nagpapasahod sa akin, magkano ang tax na binabayad mo? Sandali, magkano ang tax na binabayaran mo? Pambihira, inaayos namin ang EDSA, ayaw niyong sumunod. O sige ireklamo niyo kami," he added.
“Kaya hindi umuunlad ang Pilipinas dahil ang gusto niyo, bawal!” Nebrija continued.
In a report by the ABS-CBN News, the video garnered more than 3,000 likes and about 1,600 shares on Facebook.
During an interview, Nebrija explained why he lost his temper over the incident.
"Ginagawa namin ang trabaho namin. Damned if you do, damned if you don't eh,” he said.
Nebrija insisted that he will not stop implementing their “no loading and unloading policy.”
