Lots of unused books and school supplies were found in a junk shop in Cebu City on Wednesday.
KAMI learned that the books were bought by the provincial government of Cebu for P34,000.
In a report by GMA’s 24 Oras, a government employee allegedly sold the books and school supplies to a junk shop for just P4,000.
According to the initial investigation, the employee has been working for the Provincial General Services Office (PGS0) for 30 years now.
"Somebody instructed him daw. Ang sinabi raw sa kaniyang term ay linisin ito o kumbaga ay wala dapat matira. Ang inimplicate niya ay somebody sa school board na staff," PGSO officer-in-charge Bernard Calderon said.

Those new books and school supplies were supposed to be distributed to Cebu local students last academic year.
As of posting, the PGSO is still conducting an investigation and the employee was placed on “floating status.”
