- Senator Bato dela Rosa slammed the critics who oppose the mandatory ROTC
- He also took a hit at the “keyboard warriors” on social media
- Dela Rosa insisted that formal military training is needed before fighting against China
Senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa slammed some 'keyboard warriors' who are opposing to restore the mandatory Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) for senior high school students.
KAMI learned that Dela Rosa believed that such military training would discipline and instill patriotism among the youth.
In an interview with Dela Rosa on ANC's Headstart, he explained that formal training is needed to fight against China.
"Karamihan sa mga kabataan natin, lalo na 'yung mga netizens, gustong-gusto makipag-giyera sa China. Gusto niyo makipag-giyera sa China, ayaw niyo naman mag ROTC. Paano kayo lumaban dun?" he said.
"'Yung keyboard-keyboard lang. 'Yung puro comment lang. Hindi ganun ang labanan. Actual giyera ito. Kinakailangan niyo magprepare,” Dela Rosa added.
As previously reported by KAMI, Dela Rosa apologized for his comment over the tragic death of a 3-year-old who was caught in the middle of a buy-bust operation. He added that he made the wrong choice of words and explained what he really meant.
