The late veteran actor Eddie Garcia tripped and collapsed during the taping of GMA’s series ‘Rosang Agimat’ on June 8.
He sustained severe cervical fracture or a broken neck and passed away on June 20 at the age of 90.
KAMI learned that the director of ‘Rosang Agimat’, Direk Toto Natividad finally spoke up amidst Garcia's controversial death.
Garcia's accident became an eye-opener to the local showbiz industry to be extra careful when filming.
According to reports, there were no standby medical personnel and ambulance when Garcia tripped on cable wires during their taping in Tondo, Manila.
Natividad's statement about Garcia's death was, "Salamat po sa karanasan, kaalaman at respeto. We will miss you," which was reported by Jojo Gabinete of Pilipino Star Ngayon.
As reported earlier by KAMI, GMA may face suspension and a P100K fine for Eddie Garcia's accident.
Eddie Garcia is known for his excellent acting skills especially for action films. He portrayed antagonist roles to some films top billed by Fernando Poe Jr.
At the age of 90, he is still able to do TV series and films. In fact, he even accepts gay roles in movies which brought him numerous citations and awards.
