- The owner of F/B Gem-Vir 1 projected her voice over the Reed Bank incident
- Fe Dela Torre said that they want justice and not war vs. China
- She also noted that the sunken boat has not been repaired yet
The owner of F/B Gem-Vir 1, the sunken Filipino fishing vessel, has been asking for justice over the Reed Bank incident.
KAMI learned that Fe Dela Torre, the wife of the boat owner, said that they do not want to declare war against China.
“Hindi po gyera hanap namin, ‘yung managot ay ‘yung barkong bumangga at danyos sa mga nasira at panahon na nasayang,” Dela Torre told GMA News Online (author Dona Magsino).
Dela Torre also mentioned that the repair of their boat has been placed on-hold due to lack of funds.
“Hindi pa po nagagalaw o nare-repair kasi po wala pang sapat at wala pa pong tulong para po sa pagre-repair,” she noted.
In a previous report by KAMI, the Department of Agriculture donated motorboats, food supplies, and financial aid to the affected fishermen.
KAMI also reported earlier that President Duterte said he was sorry to the local fishermen involved in the collision. He mentioned that military exercises could not be done against China because it could prompt a war.
