President Rodrigo Duterte shared a light moment with Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha during their bilateral meeting in Bangkok on Sunday.
KAMI learned that President Duterte had a successful bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the 34th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit.
In a report by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), President Duterte and the Thai Prime Minister exchanged tokens following their bilateral meeting.
As reported by ABS-CBN News, President Duterte urged Thai business leaders to invest and/or expand their operations in the Philippines. He also emphasized the “fast-learning workforce” and “corruption-free business climate” in the country.
"We are making significant headway in transforming the Philippines into a more stable and secure place for investments,” the President said.
During the first quarter of 2019, Thailand is the third largest foreign investor in the Philippines, according to Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo.
