Secretary Silvestre Bello, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary disclosed that they ordered an investigation through Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) regarding the fatal accident of Eddie Garcia which resulted to his death.
“It is not the DOLE that will investigate but the Occupational Safety and Health Center. It’s ongoing,” said the DOLE secretary in an interview. Bello also paid his respect to the award-winning actor.
OSHC is tasked to investigate GMA's compliance with OSH rules and standards according to a report by Manila Bulletin.
“Need bigyan value workplace ng workers, napakahalaga ‘yun,” said Bello.
The 90-year-old veteran actor fell on the ground during a shoot of a GMA-7's new TV series. He was rushed to the nearest hospital to the location of their shoot and was initially declared as DOA. However, he was revived and was transferred to a hospital in Makati where he stayed in a state of coma for nearly 2 weeks.
