Late veteran actor Eddie Garcia has passed away at the age of 90 at 4:55 p.m. on Thursday, June 20.

His death was confirmed through a medical bulletin which was issued by the Makati Medical Center.

It can be recalled that during Eddie’s 2012 interview with Mario Dumaual, he revealed that he wanted his ashes to be scattered in Manila Bay after being cremated, “Gusto ko from death bed, diretso sa crematorium. Pagkatapos, may kaibigan akong piloto, kukunin ‘yung ashes ko, ikakalat sa dagat sa Manila Bay. That’s it.”

KAMI learned, however, that director Bibeth Orteza, a close friend of Eddie and his family, has spoken up about the late actor’s wishes, “‘Yun nga palang nasabi minsan ni Tito Eddie na pabiro na gusto raw niya ‘yung abo niya eh ikakalat sa Manila Bay, hindi totoo ‘yun.”

Inquirer also stated in their report that Mike Romero, who is the father of Eddie’s longtime partner Lilibeth Romero, had made a promise with Eddie in the past, “Apparently, at one point, and Tito Eddie and father ni Lilibeth si Mike, kasi magkaibigan ‘yung dalawang ‘yun, nangako sa isa’t-isa, ‘Pag nilibing tayo, magkasama tayo sa libingan.

“So ‘yun ang inaayos nila. ‘Yung mabili ‘yung lote na malapit doon. And then in the meantime, after the services on Sunday, iuuwi ni Lilibeth ‘yung mga abo,” Bibeth also added.

Her revelation also garnered reactions from netizens on social media.
