Oncologist Dr. Isaac David Ampil II said in a Pinoy MD episode that farting many times is actually normal.

KAMI learned that farting 17 to 23 times a day or once an hour is pretty normal, at least according to a study that he cited.

"Farting is a normal process of digestion," Ampil said.

"So normal naman talaga ang pag-utot pero 'pag sumobra siya, it may be a sign na may problema ka sa digestion," he added.

Another reason for farting too much could be the intake of complex carbohydrates like potatoes and sweet potatoes.

If the farting just wouldn’t stop, then, it is advised to visit a gastroenterologist to check if your digestive system is still functioning properly.
