Cherie Gil was not able to hold back her tears when she won Gawad Urian for Best Supporting Actress.
It was for her film 'Citizen Jake' where she plays a brief but important role.
In her speech, the Kapuso actress said that getting a Gawad Urian award is a dream for all actors.
"Ito yung pinaka-asam asam naming mga artista nung araw pa," she revealed.
She also expressed her gratitude to the 'Manunuri' or critics of Filipino movies.
The Starstruck judge also posted on her Instagram account to write what she feels about her new achievement.
She expressed her joy as she has finally gotten the award after trying multiple times.
" And I finally brought home a Gawad Urian trophy after 5 tries and more than 40 years in the industry! Ahhhhhhhhhh. Maraming salamat !! #citizenjake swipe and see how happy I was!" She penned.

Cherie, or Evangeline Rose Gil Eigenmann in real life, was born on June 21, 1963. She is a Filipino actress who has been acting in TV series, films, and theatrical productions since she was 9 years old.
