Rica Peralejo took to Instagram to explain why she decided to give birth at home, naturally unmedicated after giving birth through CS on her first child.
The former actress who is now a blogger shared a photo of her 2nd baby revealing that she gave birth at home through a VBAC or vaginal birth after caesarean. Some netizens expressed their opinion on this as according to some netizens, this setup could be risky to some mother.
She however clarified that it was her personal choice because of her prior experience giving birth in the hospital. She also stressed that her decision was highly supported by her obstetrician-gynecologist.
She also sought for a midwife's help for her and her baby's safety. Everything was closely monitored while she was nearing her expected date of giving birth to ensure that homebirth will be safe for them.
The former actress also added that she made sure to educate herself about the risks of both home and hospital births prior to making her decision.
Rica wanted to avoid taking heavy drvgs.
"Diyan ako pinakatakot, na malagyan ako at ang baby ko ng sobrang daming gamot na hindi naman kailangan and compromise our gut and immune system,” she wrote.
Addressing her fellow moms, she advised anyone who wish to do the same as she did to get fully informed first.
She also advised that one should get help from healthcare providers.
