The interview was from the 67th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) which was held back on April 28, 2019 where Eddie was awarded as best actor for his role in the film ‘ML’.
During the interview, Eddie was asked how many awards did he already receive under FAMAS to which he answered, “17 na ang awards ko dito sa FAMAS.”
When asked how important it was for him to keep on receiving big awards, Eddie said he only considers the awards as a bonus, “Well sabi ko nga, it’s a bonus for a job well done. Oo, it’s better than money.”
He also explained why he continues to do films despite his age, "Trabaho lang yan eh, acting is just a job. Kamukha mo, you're a newspaper man, that's your job."
During his award speech, the veteran actor also called his longtime partner, Lilibeth Romero, "my lucky charm".
