- Eddie Garcia is in a coma after suffering a severe neck injury
- His doctor, Dr. Tony Rebosa, opened up about his patient
- He said that the actor would be a quadriplegic even if he survives the neck injury
Eddie Garcia is still in a critical condition in the ICU of Makati Medical Center after suffering a severe neck injury in a freak accident while filming an action scene for his upcoming GMA-7 teleserye.
KAMI learned that his doctor, Dr. Tony Rebosa, gave an interview about the actor’s condition.
MJ Felipe, an ABS-CBN entertainment reporter, shared clips on Twitter of Rebosa’s interview. According to the doctor, it will take a miracle for Eddie to survive.
“Everything is in God’s hands. We have to pray for him,” Rebosa said.
He added that even if Garcia manages to survive the injury, he would be paralyzed from the neck down.
“I don’t want to give you any false hopes. Masyadong serious yung kanyang neck fracture because it involves the first and the second cervical vertebrae. Completely transected yung spinal cord niya.
“Those who would survive, quadriplegic sila, paralyzed from the neck down. If he does survive, yun ang magiging consequence niya. Very serious talaga yung kalagayan,” he explained.
In a previous report by KAMI, Eddie’s partner Lilibeth Romero opened up about the actor’s accident.
Eddie Garcia is a veteran actor known for his intensity, dedication, and versatility. Before doing the TV series under GMA Network, he was part of Kapamilya primetime show FPJ's Ang Probinsiyano.
