Grace Poe: We are okay

Senator Grace Poe anticipates more time for sleep and for her family after the partial and unofficial vote counting of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Transparency Server displayed a safe presumption of victory for her rival Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte in the 2016 presidential race.

Senator Grace Poe, an independent candidate, announced her concession in the presidential race to Mayor Rodrigo Duterte in a press conference Monday midnight. When asked if she would still consider running for President again in 2022, Poe said: “Sabi mo nga, mahirap nga ‘yung pinagdaanan e, so parang ngayon sa tingin ko hindi na yata.”

She then proceeded to talk about current plans, and we quote, “Siguro hahabaan ko nang konti ang tulog ko, hindi na tatlong oras ngayon sa isang gabi, mga apat o lima pwede na,” Poe said.

“Yung aking bunso na 11 years old, sabi niya, kinumusta niya ako: ‘Are you okay, mom? I’m proud of you.’

Senator Grace Poe has three children: Nika, Hanna, and Brian, her only and 24-year-old eldest son. She said that she and her family have no regrets as they have given all their best to ensure a decent and orderly campaign.

She also expressed thanks to her supporters and friends who were with her during the campaign.

Senator Poe will continue to serve the Senate till 2019. She was the first one to concede to Mayor Duterte, just hours after the election.
