Eddie Garcia had been in the same state four days after his accident in the set of a GMA 7 soap. He had remained comatose in Makati Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit.

According to a report by Ricky Lo of The Philippine Star, the actor was placed under a 48-hour “critical observation,” and he remained unresponsive.

Eddie Garcia's longtime partner Lillibeth Romero talked about the incident in an interview with The STAR.

Lilibeth shared that Eddie was declared DOA (Dead On Arrival) at Mary Johnston Hospital where he was first rushed after the accident.

She also explained about the initial statement from her son, which was claimed to be an “official family statement."

Lillibeth’s son Nikki Romero was flooded with questions about the incident and said it could have been a heart attack.

However, after some tests, it was found out that the actor did not suffer a heart attack but a neck injury.

Eddie was transferred to MMC where it was confirmed by Dr. Enrique Lagman, Lilibeth's uncle that the actor did not have a heart attack.
